3.19.2020 MCS-19 COVID actualización

Estimado Mason City Escuelas de la Familia,

Feliz primer dia de primavera!

Watch this encouraging video message from Superintendent Jonathan Cooper as he shares what our new COVID-19 reality looks like for the Cooper Family, and how we can all stay connected and support each other during this time.

A partir de ayer a las 2 p.m., no hay casos confirmados de COVID-19 en las escuelas de Mason City, y 88 casos confirmados en Ohio. A continuación hay preguntas comunes de nuestras familias y el público., and our responses.
Are students and staff working next week during the previously scheduled spring break?

Mason City Schools will continue with our scheduled spring break from Monday, marzo 23, 2020 through Friday, marzo 27, 2020. All buildings, including the Central Office, will be closed to staff and the public. Families and students may continue to use the Learning Momentum site to maintain learning momentum as we begin the transition to a more formal Remote Learning Experience.

Here is the Ohio Department of Health’s recommendations and guidance for Spring Break and Student Travel.

I borrowed a Chromebook from the district. How do I register it?

If you picked up a Chromebook from the district recently due to the COVID-19 event and have not yet registered your device, por favor complete esta forma. Esto nos ayuda con nuestro inventario., and to support you if you have technology issues in the future.

Consider other ways to connect by having virtual playdates.

Intente que sus hijos salgan todos los días. Necesitan evitar acercarse demasiado a otras personas., but that doesn’t mean families can’t visit parks or take a walk in the neighborhood. Evite el equipo de juegos ya que el virus puede permanecer en la superficie durante muchas horas., but kicking around a ball or playing with their own toys outside is fine.

My high school student is very concerned about potentially missing Prom or graduation. Will we try to come up with something creative?

si. We recognize how important these milestones are for our Mason High School students. While we don’t yet have the answers for how these events will take place, we are committed to doing our best to come up with creative solutions.

How can we support our community?
