What is Mason’s Remote Learning Plan?
Though Governor DeWine originally referred to the three-week closure as an “extended spring break,” we have since received additional direction from him and the Ohio Department of Education. Here is our plan for deploying Mason’s Remote Learning Experience Plan in weekly phases. This plan is designed to prepare us for the very real possibility that we will need to begin a longer-term Remote Learning Experience beginning April 6.
Week 1 (مارس 16-20) – Students engage in their interests and curiosities using resources from thisسایت آموزشی MCS Learning. This gives our teachers time to build meaningful Remote Learning Experiences and learn how to use new tools to support remote learning. Keep the Learning Momentum going! We understand that this may look very different from household to household.
Please feel free to use resources from the سایت آموزشی MCS Learning to add extended learning opportunities.
Students will access remote learning tools by engaging with ungraded lessons that review or enrich previously taught content.
Week 4 (آوریل 6 و فراتر) – Teachers and students engage in new learning using our Remote Learning Experience model, با خانواده هایی که در خانه پشتیبانی می کنند.
How will students facing food insecurity get fed?
Any students in need may continue to receive food during the time that our buildings are closed. Our Child Nutrition Department is working closely with our Transportation Department and support staff to plan for meals on a regular basis. 17, students may pick up breakfast and lunch meals at the Mason Intermediate drop off circle located at the front entrance. Pick up hours will be 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Beginning Wednesday, مارس 18, students will be able to pick up meals in their neighborhoods between 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM. Exact locations to be determined. No district-provided meals will be available during spring break (جمعه, March 20th through March 27th).
Our community partners are also delivering donated food and other life supplies to families in need, and will be vital during Mason’s Spring Break. Meals during this week will be available at Christ’s Church of Mason. We are grateful for our partnership with Joshua’s Place and other community volunteers, who are collecting, packaging and distributing Student Meal Kits and other items to Warren County families in need. Donate and Get Involved!
Anyone who needs help with food during this time is encouraged to contact MCS School Resource Coordinator Molly Schmidt at[email protected].

How do I access mental health support for my child?
Our school counselors and Mental Wellness Team are committed to serving your family in this unprecedented time. Although we will not be able to see your family weekly, we are still here to support and we want to provide some resources if you need them.
Will the Election still be held on March 17th?
State officials have affirmed that the election will happen. Twenty-eight percent of Mason parents have voted early.
The Warren County Board of Elections (520 عدالت دکتر, لبنان, اوه 45036) has extended their early voting hours today until 2:00عصر.
If you are voting on March 17th, polls are open from 6:30am – 7:00عصر. Find your polling place location.
Will students have to make up the missed days at the end of the year?
Mason’s academic calendar provides for more hours than the state requirements. As of now, the Ohio Department of Education has shared that if schools make a good faith effort to provide educational services within available capabilities, and that under these circumstances students are deemed to be in attendance, there is no need to make any adjustments.
How does this affect state testing?
We need educators, students and families to concentrate on staying healthy! The state has offered pretty clear guidance that affirms our district’s views. “The most important consideration at this time should be the health and safety of students and of the community. Obviously, no state testing will take place during the closure period. The Ohio Department of Education will take appropriate action to adjust the state’s testing schedule (both in terms of administration and reporting) to accommodate the three-week closure. The intention is to be as flexible as possible. We will be asking the U.S. Department of Education for the maximum flexibility in accommodating the current circumstances. Many, but not all, juniors have completed the state-sponsored SAT or ACT. The Department of Education is committed to working with vendors to identify additional testing opportunities. Additional information regarding assessment timelines and the return of results will be shared when available.”
We miss seeing your children, and are grateful for your support!
